When we receive a check or cash from a donor who isn't in Salesforce, we need to create a new Donor Contact. This links the gift to the correct record, enables tax receipting, and ensures we can continue communicating with the donor.
This article explains how to create a new Donor Contact.
1. Click the downward arrow by Contacts.
2. Click + New Contact.
3. Ensure Household Contact is selected.
4. Click Next.
5. Enter the donor's First and Last Name.
6. If we have the donor's Phone or Email, scroll down to Contact Information.
7. Enter the Phone.
8. Enter the Email.
9. If we have the Donor's Address, scroll down to Address Information.
10. Enter the address in Address Search and select the correct one.
11. Click Save.
The Contact has been created.
