Prospecting notes capture your evaluation of a donor and the reasons behind your recommendations. They provide context for other staff, document your research, and guide next steps in cultivation. This article explains how to enter it in Salesforce.
From the Prospect's Account.
1. Click the downward triangle under Activity.
2. Click New Task.
3. Enter the Subject of Prospecting Note.
4. Select Prospecting Note for Type.
5. Enter your prospecting notes.
6. Enter the date you reviewed the Prospect for Due Date.
7. Scroll down.
8. Select Completed for Status.
9. Click Save.
The Prospecting Note has been created and the Prospect Reviewed Date has been updated on both the donor's Account and Contact.
Next, move the contacts tile to your recommended stage in the Prospecting Queue.
