Logging a Meeting Manually with a Donor or Volunteer

Logging meetings with donors or volunteers is an essential part of maintaining accurate records. It helps us track the frequency of our interactions and ensures the rest of the team stays informed about the details of these connections. Keeping this information updated strengthens collaboration and enhances relationship management.

This article describes how to log a meeting with a donor or a volunteer.

If you've scheduled an event on your Outlook calendar and invited the donor or volunteer using the email address listed in their Salesforce record, the meeting will automatically appear in their Salesforce Activities.

If not, you'll need to log the meeting manually to ensure its recorded.

From the Donor or Volunteer's Account Page.

1. Click the arrow by Activity.

2. Click New Task.

3. Type the Subject.

4. Select Meeting for Type.

5. Enter in any notes in Comments.

6. Set the Due Date to the date of the meeting.

7. Scroll down in the pop-up.

8. If the Name of the donor or volunteer you met with is incorrect, click the X and select the correct individual.

9. If the meeting concerned a particular opportunity, select the correct Opportunity.

10. Scroll down in the pop-up.

11. Set the Status to Completed.

12. Click Save.

The meeting has now been logged.
