When we find a new grant to apply for, whether from a new or existing foundation, its important to create a Grant Opportunity in our system. This helps us track the donation amount, timeline, requirements, and updates, so we can manage the grant effectively and record the outcome, including any donations received.
This article will guide you through the steps to create a Grant Opportunity.
From the Organization Account Page
1. Hover over Opportunities.
2. Click New.
3. Select the type of Opportunity.
If the grant is for an Atlanta Mission event sponsorship, like the 5K, Gala, or Golf, select Event Revenue. For all other grants, select Grant.
4. Click Next.
5. Input any text for Opportunity Name.
An automation will adjust Opportunity Name to the correct naming once the Opportunity is saved.
6. Select the Primary Campaign Source.
- Event Revenue: Choose the primary campaign for the event, including the word "Sponsors" (e.g., FY25 Race to End Homelessness - Sponsors).
- Corporate Grants: Select the campaign for the fiscal year with "Corporate Grants" (e.g., FY25 Corporate Grants).
- Foundation Grants: Use the fiscal year campaign with "Foundations" for family foundations (e.g., FY25 Foundations).
