Making a Call through RingCentral for Salesforce

RingCentral for Salesforce lets you make and receive calls to donors, volunteers, and corporate partners directly from your Salesforce account. Once your call has begun, you can log the call with details and notes as activity on the account.

This article shares how to make a call and log activity through RingCentral for Salesforce. To learn how to login to RingCentral for Salesforce for the first time, click here.

There are two ways to make a call and log activity within RingCentral for Salesforce. You can either call directly from a contact or account record, or you can use the dialpad within Salesforce and search for the contact you'd like to call.

Make a Call from a Contact or Account Record

1. Search for and select the contact or account you’d like to call.

2. Click on the phone number on the account or contact record.

On the account, it is located on the Account Quickview. On the contact, it is located in the Contact Information section.

If you are not logged in to RingCentral for Salesforce, the blue phone symbol will have a slash through it. To learn how to login to RingCentral for Salesforce, click here.

3. Type in the Subject of your call.

4. Select Call as the type of activity.

5. Type in any Notes relevant to the call.

During or immediately after the call, you can enter your activity notes in the RingCentral for Salesforce popup.

If you need to add an additional contact or change the related contact, click on the arrow by Contact and add the contact.

6. Press the red phone button to end the call when complete.

Done! Your call and note have been logged on the account in the activity section.

Make a Call from the Dial Pad

1. Click on the phone icon in the bottom lefthand corner of the browser.

2. Type in the name of the contact you'd like to call.

3. Select the correct contact.

4. Press the Green Phone icon.

3. Type in the Subject of your call.

4. Select Call as the type of activity.

5. Type in any Notes relevant to the call.

During or immediately after the call, you can enter your activity notes in the RingCentral for Salesforce popup.

If you need to add an additional contact or change the related contact, click on the arrow by Contact and add the contact.

6. Press the red phone button to end the call when complete.

Done! Your call and note have been logged on the account in the activity section.
